Paul Brindley FCA

Licensed Insolvency Practitioner | Founder of Midlands Business Recovery

I’m a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and have worked in insolvency since 1985. I set up Midlands Business Recovery in 2010 to be the best, most respected insolvency firm serving the Midlands SME market. My reputation has since spread – I now help directors across the UK.

Technology That Works for You

I’ve always believed that insolvency should be more accessible, more transparent, and more efficient — and that technology has a major role to play in achieving that. That’s why I created VAi, the UK’s first AI-powered insolvency copilot — designed to help company directors and accountants get fast, reliable guidance on financial distress.

At Midlands Business Recovery, we use the very best tools available today – including AI, automation, and custom-built systems – to deliver a level of service that far exceeds what most small firms can offer. We don’t just rely on experience (though I have 40 years of it); we use modern systems to streamline cases, respond quickly, and keep our overheads low – passing that efficiency on to you.

It means we punch well above our weight – combining the personalised support of a boutique firm with the smart systems you’d expect from a national operator.

Other Business Interests

I’m also director of Asset Disposal Services Limited, which sells used industrial machinery. That background means I think a little differently from most in my profession – I understand manufacturing, I understand engineering, and I understand the pressures directors face from both sides of the desk.

A Bit More About Me

I’m a Black Country lad – born and schooled in Stourbridge, living in Coseley with my wife of almost 40 years. I’m a very proud grandfather and a long-suffering Baggies fan.  In my spare time, I walk and climb the mountains of the UK and abroad with West Bromwich Mountaineering Club, play 5 a side football despite ever more creaking knees, have an half interest in a yacht on Derwentwater in the Lakes and spend as much time in the outdoors as I can.

My Approach

If you’re looking for:

– Close personal support from someone who will find the right solution – not just the obvious one;
– Practical options to rescue or close your company with dignity;
– Clear, ethical guidance with no judgement;

… then you’ve come to the right place.

I consider it a privilege to support hard-working, honest directors who find themselves in difficult positions – normally through no fault of their own. The directors I work with value integrity and want to do the right thing. So do I.

📱 My mobile is 07813 102014 – it’s always on (except when I’m babysitting!).
