Thanks for trying out VAi, the UK’s first bot that uses generative ai to provide insolvency practitioners and others with support on limited company insolvency.  VAi is so very, very simple to use.  Here are a few tips…

  1. Treat me like a real human.  Talk to me as if I were sitting in front of you.  Say please, thank you, tell me when I’ve done well, tell me when you want more help or want me to amend what I’ve given you. Don’t just accept the first thing that I give you.
  2. Don’t ask me Google type questions – each prompt can be up to 4,000 characters.  This means I can take on board a huge amount of information – the more information you give me of the circumstances, the better the result will be.
  3. First off, tell me you are an insolvency practitioner, that way I know how to ‘speak’ to you.
  4. Then explain what you want me to do.  For example, prepare an email / letter to …. I can do almost anything, I have been trained to help you in so, so many ways.    But before you press the button to ask me to prepare what you want, …
  5. Tell me the circumstances.  Exactly what are the facts behind what your’re looking for.  The more detail you can give me the better.  Just don’t give me real names anywhere, either yours, your clients, the company’s, the directors/shareholders etc.  Just use, say, X Limited, Mr Y, etc.  And then later after you’ve copied the output into either Word or youir email system, use the find and replace tool to put the real names in.  Oh, and don’t forget the 4000 character limit per prompt.  That’s enough for most circumstances, but if you want to input more, just split the facts across several prompts.
  6. Then, before you ask me to prpare what you need, tell me ‘Now ask me any other questions you need answers to in order that you can give me the very best support’.  The bot will now ask you more questions it needs answers to.  Answer the questions.  Then when the questioning dries up…
  7. Ask it to produce what you need… but importantly, tell it exactly how you want the bot’s output so that you don’t have to work on it any more, you can just copy it across into your systems and use it.  For example, tell it you want a ‘LBA to the director’, a ‘letter to the company creditors on …’, an extract for the report to creditors, a file note, agenda item etc.  Tell it how you want it – say, in Markdown, bullet point form, numbered point form, etc, and whether you want it written ‘friendly’ or ‘professionally’.  And don’t forget to tell it you want it in British English.
